Jimmy's Health Update!
Dear Family and Friends,
It has been since last January that I have written a health update on Jimmy's condition because since his last stay at the hospital he has been stable enough to come home and finish working on all the projects around the house. So we have both been busy getting things done that have been sitting for the past two years, a lot of catching up to do and it has been nice having my husband back to do the things that only he can do!
We had our visit to Jackson Memorial yesterday to find out when he would be scheduled for surgery and the doctor updated us on his medical condition presently. Both of his kidneys are too large for his body and cause him a lot discomfort. The kidneys will need to be removed immediately once he has all his cardiac testing completed and his dialysis fistula is workable, so we are looking at the end of September or beginning of October.
The cyst are now at the beginning stages of taking over his liver but that is not a problem at this time and we have also found out that his blood clots are not gone but instead just moved enough in his veins to allow blood flow. It seems this will be a chronic problem for Jimmy and something they have to monitor during surgery and the rest of his life, which is a possible risk. Once the kidneys are removed in September/October we then wait for a matching donor and Jimmy will have to go to a clinic to do his dialysis instead of at home which is what he has been doing.
We are encouraged because of the answered prayer of his condition at the moment, he has been very stable for several months in spite of the lack of his kidney function. Everyone this year has said they cannot even tell he's ill and that is really a "miracle!" So continue to pray for Jimmy as he continues this journey and for our family and thank you for all your love and support each and every day! This path that God has chosen for our lives is made easier when traveled with family and friends to help us carry the load and we are forever grateful..........
